Finnius lives out his lifelong dream: To photograph the Old West.
He takes the Anima Obscura with him. He finds a tribe in southeast
Nebraska called the Minachakwa who seem to represent what people
generally view as embodying the American west. He sets up a makeshift
darkroom and develops a few photographs when he has time.
A disease begins to spread among the Minachakwa Indians, one
in which the victim turns to dust. Finnius leaves the tribe so
he won't catch the disease. He finishes developing the photographs
in Kansas City.
